The Florida Open House Weekend is a chance for potential homebuyers to conveniently view many homes in a single weekend and take advantage of the federal homebuyer tax credit before it expires. Homes need to be under contract by April 30, 2010, and the purchase closed by June 30, 2010 to benefit from the tax credits – up to $8,000 for first-time buyers and up to $6,500 for repeat buyers. Who is sponsoring the Florida Open House Weekend?
The Florida Open House Weekend is sponsored by the 115,000-plus member Florida Realtors®, with more than 90 percent of its local Realtor® boards and associations participating in this first-ever statewide Open House event. The Emerald Coast Association of Realtors® (ECAR) is a participating association and covers Okaloosa and Walton counties. ECAR has nearly 2300 members from Escambia to Bay counties.
